About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized, strategic Freelance Project Manager / HR Implementation Specialist to lead the rollout of a transformative HR Upgrade Plan for The Dream Opportunity. This is a career-defining freelance opportunity to architect and execute a new HR operating model that will fuel our next phase of growth.

You will work closely with leadership, legal counsel, and key internal stakeholders to drive the implementation across compliance, talent development, onboarding, compensation equity, HR systems, and brand culture integration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Compliance & Legal Coordination

  • Ensure all contractors and employees meet legal documentation standards (W-9s, NDAs, IDs).
  • Maintain compliance with education and corporate regulations.
  • Conduct annual compliance reviews; create and manage a compliance renewal calendar.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel on global employment standards.

2. Performance Management & Internal Mobility

  • Launch quarterly performance review processes using custom rubrics.
  • Design career progression pathways for staff and global speakers.
  • Introduce mentoring and leadership development checkpoints.

3. Role Clarity & Job Architecture

  • Develop job descriptions and success benchmarks (30, 60, 90-day outcomes) for all roles.
  • Support standardized promotion and handoff procedures.

4. Onboarding, Training & DU Course Updates

  • Streamline and optimize onboarding to reduce ramp-up time significantly.
  • Update internal training courses with leadership, technical, and brand modules.
  • Implement onboarding success metrics and tracking.

5. Compensation Transparency & Equity Reviews

  • Conduct compensation benchmarking and equity analysis across roles, geographies, and genders.
  • Establish clear communication of compensation growth frameworks.

8. Contractor & Speaker Operations

  • Finalize contractor and speaker rate structures, cost policies, and operational guidelines.

9. AI Integration for HR Operations

  • Implement AI-driven solutions for recruitment, JD optimization, hiring timeline tracking.
  • Update and refresh Glassdoor profiles and employer branding assets.

10. Updated Interview Process

  • Standardize interview rubrics and support final interview panel integration.

11. PTO Tracking & Operational Planning

  • Implement digital PTO management tools.
  • Forecast and plan for workforce coverage throughout the year.

12. Annual Brand Refresh & Standards Alignment

  • Lead the annual refresh of brand energy, client-facing standards, and public behavior expectations.

13. Structured Offboarding Process

  • Formalize contractor and employee exit processes, knowledge capture, and tool access cutoffs.

14. Brand Integration & Archetype Rollout

  • Support roll-out of the DREAM Manager Archetype and brand personification frameworks across HR touchpoints.

15. Leadership Development Support

  • Design and support a development plan for emerging HR leaders internally, including mentorship and structured learning.

16. Hiring Info Session Updates

  • Collaborate with leadership to update and optimize the hiring information session (support with 5-slide revamp).

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven project management experience (preferably HR, People Ops, or Compliance initiatives).
  • Deep understanding of HR fundamentals, compliance, onboarding, talent management, and training.
  • Experience in fast-growth, entrepreneurial, or education-focused environments a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with HR tech tools (e.g., Gusto, BambooHR, Deel, Notion, AI-based recruiting platforms).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills — able to work across departments and time zones.
  • Strategic thinker who can create structure from ambiguity and deliver detailed execution plans.
  • Experience with university relations, recruiting pipelines, and branding is a bonus.
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented.
  • Freelance mindset: Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

Contract Details

  • Estimated Hours: 20–30 hours/week to start, flexible.

  • Term: 6–9 months, with potential extension or permanent offer if desired.

  • Rate: Competitive hourly/project-based rate (to be discussed).

  • Location: Remote, flexible within US time zones preferred.
